What's new
Every update, newest first. The app updates by itself the next time you open it online. Current version: 1.25.1.
1.25.15 Oct 2026
- History sheet scrolls as one surface (the page behind it no longer moves), newest month at the top with an Oldest first switch, and a proper month and year picker for adding a month
- Today’s date sits in the top bar, and when the month in progress is behind the date the app says so and offers to fill it in, open the sheet, or carry forward (the sample too)
- Sheets and cards no longer scroll the page behind them
1.25.05 Oct 2026
- History sheet: every month and stack in one grid you can type into, like a spreadsheet. Open it from Show the numbers under the chart, from History, or from Settings → Your data. Paste a block of cells to fill across and down, add a missing month, and Save applies the lot with Undo
1.24.65 Oct 2026
- The lock dialog is one sentence; the note about carried-forward income moved to the month summary
- On a desktop the stack card is wider, with Contribution and Breakdown side by side, and says hover rather than drag
- "Hide 12 unused stacks" reads as the action it is
1.24.55 Oct 2026
- The guide is one line per step: tap a step for the detail, or Show me to jump to that screen. It has a close button at the top
- Tapping the sample-data strip now asks Keep exploring or Start blank, instead of opening Settings
1.24.45 Oct 2026
- Keyboard and screen readers: stack, income and goal tiles can be reached with Tab and opened with Enter, every sheet closes with Esc, focus returns to where you were, and saves are announced
1.24.35 Oct 2026
- All seven chart views are visible on phones: the tabs wrap to two rows under 420px, and on wider screens that still overflow a › at the edge scrolls to the rest
1.24.25 Oct 2026
- A pay check-in saves only once every stack is answered; the button counts what is left, and reads "Save · nothing moved" when nothing changed
1.24.15 Oct 2026
- History is grouped by year, with this year open and earlier years folded, one line per stack and no repeated labels. On a desktop each year is a table: months down, stacks across. Export and Import live in Settings → Your data
1.24.05 Oct 2026
- Editors open on the number. Listing accounts, funds or holdings is a link under the field ("List accounts instead"), and switching back says which total it is using
- View full history and the super projection only appear once a stack has a locked figure
1.23.75 Oct 2026
- The stack card’s "value entered – tap to edit" strip is now a plain "Updated for Sep · $14,800" line; the one Edit button does the editing
1.23.65 Oct 2026
- The pay reminder now opens as a real calendar event on pocketstacks.com.au, so iPhone offers Add to Calendar instead of showing the file as text. A Subscribe link keeps it in step with your pay setup
1.23.55 Oct 2026
- Every Confirm shows "Cash · $12,500 saved · Undo" for six seconds; Undo puts the stack back as it was
- The net worth count-up is shorter and skips the first figure of a month, so a glance never catches a half-way number
1.23.45 Oct 2026
- Removing an account line takes two taps: × turns into Remove? for four seconds first. Cancel still puts every line back
1.23.35 Oct 2026
- Bigger tap targets on phones and iPads: chart ranges, view tabs, Zoom and +12 mo, History and summary links, settings rows, editor fields and every button are at least 44px tall
1.23.25 Oct 2026
- The browser’s Back button (and the Android back gesture) now closes whatever is open: a stack card, an editor, the summary, Settings, History, instead of leaving the app
1.23.15 Oct 2026
- Settings regrouped: Your data, Pay check-ins, Region and loans (folded), Help, About, then a Danger zone at the end. A close button sits top right and Esc closes the sheet
1.23.05 Oct 2026
- Streaks, records and best-month chips now need a real update: a month with fewer than half its stacks confirmed keeps its figures but earns none of them, and the summary says so first
- When most stacks are still unconfirmed, Lock in offers Review first (jumps to the next stack to check) before Carry forward & lock
1.22.35 Oct 2026
- One progress count: the bottom bar says "4 of 15 updated · 11 to go"; the Stacks and Income headers just say how many are done, and the Stacks header no longer repeats the net worth
1.22.25 Oct 2026
- One set of words: "month" everywhere the app said "cycle", the lock card says Locked in, History lists Months with a Month summary, and "check-in" now only means a pay check-in
1.22.15 Oct 2026
- Starting blank now opens on one card, Add your first balance, with the stacks right under it. The chart, stats and streak appear once a figure exists, and Lock in waits until then
- The welcome sheet no longer shows the bottom bar and reminders behind it
1.22.05 Oct 2026
- One reminder at a time above your net worth: pay check-in first, then a missed month, backup, install. The rest fold into "2 more things to do". Later now snoozes any of them for 14 days
- The sample-data notice is a one-line strip under the top bar
1.21.25 Oct 2026
- Cancel and Confirm now stay in view at the bottom of every sheet (stack editor, properties, goals, lock in, settings, check-in, import and help) instead of sitting below the end of a long form
1.21.15 Oct 2026
- A stack with no figure yet opens with an empty field, and Confirm waits until you type a number; an empty Confirm no longer saves $0
1.21.05 Oct 2026
- Undo a lock: after Done on the month summary, a 10-second "locked · Undo" notice puts the month back exactly as it was; the summary card has Undo this lock too
- Edit a locked month from History: tap a month, then Edit this month, change any figure and the total is worked out again; the month is marked corrected
1.20.05 Oct 2026
- Light/Dark and Settings moved to the top right of the screen on phone, iPad and desktop; the bottom bar keeps your progress, History and Lock in
1.19.14 Oct 2026
- Tidier loan and account editors on smaller screens.
1.19.04 Oct 2026
- Vehicle loans can be secured against a vehicle: choose it under Secured against when you add or edit the loan
- The loan shows the vehicle and its loan-to-value, flagged above the same limit as your property loans; the vehicle shows its equity (value less its loan)
- Removing a vehicle you’ve sold warns you first and unlinks its loan. The loan itself stays until you pay it out
- Monthly balances import has an optional Linked to column: put the vehicle’s name on a vehicle loan row to link it
1.18.04 Oct 2026
- Broker imports: when a code changes (TMGOE to AT4OE, say) PocketStacks spots it and offers to join the two into one holding, and remembers it for later imports
- Sells with nothing to sell are no longer dropped quietly: choose whether it's a renamed code, units you held before the file starts, or leave them out
- Mark a holding as no longer held when you sold or moved it somewhere the file doesn't show
- Type today's price for each holding while importing, instead of using an old trade price. The stack shows the date of each price
- Cost base is now first in, first out with brokerage included, the way CommSec shows it. CommSec confirmation files now bring in brokerage
1.17.04 Oct 2026
- Exported workbooks now come formatted in PocketStacks colours: clear headers, months banded, debts in red, dropdowns for stacks and trade types, and a new Net worth sheet with your month-by-month history. Import works exactly as before
1.16.44 Oct 2026
- Fixed: on iPad the bottom bar (Settings, Lock in) could sit under the stack tiles and not respond to taps
- Workbook screens keep their Back and action buttons in view on small phones
1.16.34 Oct 2026
- Workbook export and import screens tidied: aligned fields, one row per sheet with the tick on the left and the row count on the right
1.16.24 Oct 2026
- Pay by pay is always in the chart tabs now. Until pay check-ins are on and you have two, it shows an example and says exactly what to do, with a button to do it
1.16.14 Oct 2026
- The sample now runs on fortnightly pay: 15 check-ins from March to September with net pay, so Pay by pay and the pay check-in settings have real figures to show
1.16.04 Oct 2026
- New Pay by pay chart tab (weekly or fortnightly pay setups): net worth at each check-in, grouped weekly, fortnightly or monthly, with the change each period
- The Retirement chart is gone for now: the model was too rough to rely on. Your super projection on the Super tile is unchanged
1.15.04 Oct 2026
- Workbook: export everything to one Excel file (balances, income, trades, holdings, property and loans, check-ins) with a client name and ID, edit it, and import it back
- Dry run before any import: what would be added, updated or skipped, with errors listed by row. Importing the same file twice changes nothing
- Settings → Import data → Export a workbook
1.14.04 Oct 2026
- Pay check-ins: update on every pay day (weekly or fortnightly) as well as at month end. Set your first pay date and a reminder, answer Did you get paid?, and update cash, savings, shares, ETFs and crypto in seconds
- Add a repeating reminder to your phone's calendar
- Each check-in is saved with its date and goes into the month in progress, so months and charts work as before
1.13.03 Oct 2026
- Retirement chart is now worked out stack by stack: your real monthly saving is measured from your last 12 months (price moves and property values left out), investments, cash and property each grow at their own rate, vehicles depreciate, and every loan is paid down at its own repayments, with the repayments invested once it's cleared
- Super contributions per month, and a clear disclaimer
1.12.03 Oct 2026
- How to install PocketStacks as an app on iPhone, iPad, Android and computers (Settings → How to install, and a reminder until it's installed)
- Restore a backup from Settings
1.11.03 Oct 2026
- New sample data: starts below zero, buys a home and two rentals, two vehicles, reaches a net-worth goal, and uses every stack and feature
- Unused stacks move to the bottom rows
- A short guide (Settings → How to use) and this What's new list
1.10.03 Oct 2026
- Retirement & compounding chart: what your net worth could grow to by your retirement age, money put in versus growth, in today's money
1.9.03 Oct 2026
- Import data: templates, CompiledSanity sheets, Sharesight, SelfWealth, CommSec and other broker files
- Trades become holdings and can fill in past months; month-end prices; undo the last import
1.8.03 Oct 2026
- Several vehicles, each valued from its price and date or by hand, with typical depreciation for your region
- Rent entered per property when you have more than one rental
- Accounts are now Stacks, with net worth and progress in the header; all 12 stacks always shown
- A month joins the charts only once every stack is updated
- Fixed: rent and overtime couldn't be typed in after opening the vehicle stack
1.7.02 Oct 2026
- Stacked monthly bars on the Today chart for 6M and 1Y
- New Changes view: what each stack added or took off, month by month
- Tablet layout matches the desktop; the logo in the app
1.6.02 Oct 2026
- 6M range; the legend shows each stack's change over the range you pick
- Foreign-currency balances convert at a live rate automatically
- Loan length and start date; rent entered per week
- Check-in summary lists every move
1.5.02 Oct 2026
- Install PocketStacks as an app on any device; works offline
- Optional sync with your own Dropbox or Google Drive
